Remove Salvo
One command removes Salvo from the server. Run it first as a simulation: it only shows what would be removed. Removing Salvo never touches JetBackup, and never deletes anything on the storage.
1. Simulate
curl -fsSL -u USER:PASSWORD https://salvobackup.com/download/uninstall.sh | sh -s -- -u USER:PASSWORD
Each line starting with would: is something the next step removes. Nothing is changed yet.
2. Remove
curl -fsSL -u USER:PASSWORD https://salvobackup.com/download/uninstall.sh | sh -s -- -u USER:PASSWORD --yes
What it does, in order:
- finds the state folder:
/var/lib/salvoand, if it exists, the folder of installations from before version 0.4.99; for a folder of your own, pass--state DIR; - removes the panel screen (WHM, or the DirectAdmin plugin and its local service), only if it points to the Salvo being removed;
- removes the schedules cron line
/etc/cron.d/salvo-backup; - stops if a backup or a restore is running: wait for it to finish and run again;
- keeps a copy of the vault in
/root/salvo-removed-<date>-<folder>/cofre; - deletes the state folder (database, vault and cache).
The vault holds the encryption keys of the Salvo backups. Without it, the Salvo backups left on the storage
cannot be opened. Keep /root/salvo-removed-…/cofre for as long as you may need those backups.
3. On the storage (optional, by hand)
The command leaves the storage untouched. To free the space of the Salvo backups too, delete only Salvo's folder
on the storage: salvo/ (gk2backup/ on installations from before version 0.4.99).
Do not delete the jetbackup_* folders: they are JetBackup's backups.
The screen is still in the panel after removing
This happens when the screen belongs to another Salvo installation, in another folder. The script keeps it on purpose and says which folder it is:
WHM screen kept: it belongs to the Salvo in /FOLDER (to remove it too, run again with --state /FOLDER)
(On DirectAdmin the line starts with DirectAdmin screen and service kept.)
Run it again with that folder: first without --yes, to see what would be removed, then with --yes:
- See what would be removed:
curl -fsSL -u USER:PASSWORD https://salvobackup.com/download/uninstall.sh | sh -s -- -u USER:PASSWORD --state /FOLDER
- Remove:
curl -fsSL -u USER:PASSWORD https://salvobackup.com/download/uninstall.sh | sh -s -- -u USER:PASSWORD --state /FOLDER --yes
Then reload WHM. The vault of that folder is also kept in /root/salvo-removed-…/cofre.
