Diagnostics

When something goes wrong, two tools help find out why: the debug mode, that logs every detail for a while, and the diagnostic bundle, a file with what support needs, without secrets.

● available in 0.4.133  Send to support: planned

Debug mode

Settings › Diagnostics › Turn on for 1 hour, Turn on for 24 hours or Turn on for 7 days. It turns itself off; while it lasts, every run logs at debug level.

Diagnostic bundle

Settings › Diagnostics › Download the bundle (a .tar.gz):

  • It has: versions, system, settings, destinations and jobs without secrets, the latest runs and logs, the screen errors and the database health.
  • It never has the vault.
  • Accounts, domains, servers, IPs and e-mails become aliases (conta1, dominio1.example…), unless you check Keep the real names.
  • Downloading it is recorded in the Audit.

On the command line

root@server
# debug mode for 1 hour (or 24h, 168h); turn it off before
/var/lib/salvo/salvo debug --on 1h
/var/lib/salvo/salvo debug --off
# the bundle, with aliases (add --with-names for the real names)
/var/lib/salvo/salvo debug --bundle /root/salvo-diagnostic.tar.gz
